This photo of me in my backyard in springtime Connecticut captures a moment of joy. And it reminds me of the importance of staying connected with my sparks.

Spark: what motivates us to show up in the world with authenticity and vitality.
Here are some things that continually spark me:
Learning. It was a dull job when I was fresh out of college that taught me to keep learning. And it's fueled a central desire to understand more about the world, especially people.
The arts. Give me a good book, an interesting podcast, a great movie, take me to a concert or art museum. I want the fresh perspective and the food for the soul.
Small moments of delight. A great meal with friends. The first signs of spring. A friendly exchange with a stranger. Laughing uncontrollably with my daughter. Present - tense moments like these keep me open, observant, and thankful.
Problem solving. Finding ways—small or large—to make things better. It energizes me and gives me hope for what's possible.
Hanging out with my family. We are a tight crew, me, my bass-playing husband Tim, our old-soul daughter Emma, and our cat Tiny, the professional napper. They are for me love as a daily practice.
What sparks you?
